Big E's Bar BQ opened it's doors in June 2009. Big E (Eric Pardo) has been catering BBQ since 2003 and in 2006 decided to enter his famous Barbeque in regional contests, and right away began winning awards:

1st place ribs   - Hog Happenin’ in Lincolnton, NC
1st place barbeque   - Bikes, boogie and barbeque in Gastonia, NC
2nd place ribs   - Hog Happenin; in Lincolnton, NC
2nd place BBQ sauce   - Annual Hog Happenin’ in Shelby, NC

Eric and business partner Mark Beach joined forces after Mark hired Eric to cater an event for him.
Mark was so impressed with the barbeque, he asked Eric to join forces with him and open a restaurant, and the rest is history.

Eric Pardo worked as an Electrician for 16-years yet he always had a passion for barbeque. In 2003 he began his own catering business specializing in barbeque. In 2006 he began entering barbeque contests throughout the region where he won several awards. These wins are impressive when you consider that many contestants have participated for many years in these contests without placing in the top ten.

Mark Beach is renowned builder and developer with 25 years experience in real estate developing and investing where, besides numerous rental properties, he has three developments in two states. Mark received a degree in Construction Management from University of North Carolina. He won ‘Top 50 Remodeler of the Year 1992’ from Remodeler Magazine a nationwide publication. He has won several awards for his building and remodeling such as ‘Appearance Award’ from the City of Shelby, NC for his remodeling of the Potter’s Hand Apartments and a National Leadership Award from the business advisory council.
Mark is President of Mark Beach Properties, Inc; President of International Covenant Development Corp., Inc. (ICDC); President of Big E Bar BQ and Vice-President of Diveach Construction which holds unlimited and unclassified licensing.
